It all hinges on this...

Right now I'm in my room doing two things 1. waiting and 2....well really im just waiting, but i am waiting for two things. First I'm downloading the demo for the new UFC game and (more importantly) im waiting for this one lady from Vermeer to call me. My buddy Ryman hooked me up with a job at Vermeer that would pay $9.40 an hour. The shift is monday through friday 11:30am to 8:00pm. That does kinda suck i guess but with living in Ames and paying rent next year i'll need all the money i can get.

Last summer i worked at 3M in knoxville from 3:00pm to 11:00pm which totally sucked because i would get home at like 11:30 and everyone would go home in like half an hour. The pay was dope and the job was easy, its just the hours that were hell. I always told myself if 3M's shift was like 11:00 to 7:00 or noon to 8:00 that it would be perfect and now God has blessed me with an opportunity to have a job with those hours. I'd also possibly be working with two of my friends from high school.

But it all hinges on this, the reason i'm waiting on this women to call is because yesterday she called me asking if I wanted the job. So i obviously said yes and we talked a bit about the job and my qualifications. Then she asked if there was anything in the summer where i would have to miss work. I told her no but my lease starts August 3 so i could really only work June-July. Once i said this she became a little apprehensive and told me that she would call me back today (wednesday) once she had talked to her manager about me only working June and July. I figure if i have to i'll work in August and just move my stuff up the 7th of August coming back to work monday, which would complicate things to say the least.

I really need this call so i can get rolling on my summer plans which are:
1. Learn how to skateboard
2. Lift and ride my bike
3. Earn money
4. Read psychology books, scripture, and miscellaneous books
5. Finish this blog entry...

She called me yesterday at 3:22 and it is now 4:04. So now i wait....

...
...
...

She finally called me at 5:01 telling me that they were fine with me only working June-July!!!! BOOOOYAAAAH praise da Lord i've got a job! and a good one at that.

By the way the new UFC game looks like its gonna suck. It looks like all they did was update the menu...

Blog Plans for the Future

This summer i plan on blogging at least once a week, hopefully about something that someone will give a shit about. But now it's Wednesday, I'm leaving for Pella tomorrow with my friend Winnie Lekokeju. We'll probably stay the night at my house (separate bedrooms cause we're just friends you fucks!) and then come back to Creston for graduation on Friday.

It's weird (and kinda funny at the same time) to think i'll be getting my degree. Granted its only an AA but still....do any of you have degrees??
...................HA that's what i thought......if so, go fuck yourself.

This is a Big Fucking Deal

Yes, finally after months of debate, propaganda, fear mongering, and out right lies, we have healthcare reform. As Americans, we pay more than any other country while having one of the worst healthcare systems among developed nations. There is not doubt that we needed government to step in, whether this bill is what we need is up for debate. The right has said that this gives too much power to the government, i feel ya (pound chest twice) but our insurance agencies were taking advantage of a basic human need. Republicans at first, said that we didnt need healthcare reform, that we "have the best healthcare system in the world". Then they said "oh we want healthcare reform now too but....just not this one". Then about a two months ago Republicans wanted law makers to write up a new bill for this reason and this reason alone: A new bill would take months to pass through the house and senate, and this summer nothing would get done because of the elections in november. So with a new bill that no one knows about and healthcare seemingly limping along Americans would say "Well, what the fuck, we wanted healthcare reform. The dems didnt get it done so i'll vote for the republican running against my democratic representative, maybe he'll do better". So still fooled, people would vote republican thinking that surely healthcare would be reformed. Republicans would have the majority and they would look around and say "Hey, we never needed healthcare reform in the first place" "Yea what were those dems thinking?!?! We're just fine Rah Rah America and so on...". Then healthcare would not be brought up again for another 15+ years. And like with the passing of social security and medicare the democratic party will drag the right kicking and screaming until they realize, not admit, but realize that as a country, we did the right thing.

listen close and you can hear Biden saying that "this is a big fucking deal"

My Sunday

Today I woke up from a nightmare involving me, west market park, and a BIG freaking spider that just thinking about it while writing this blog gives me chills. After I woke up, took a shower and decided to play NCAA Football 2010. But my saved file that I've been playing very diligently for the past week and a half decided to become corrupted. SUCKY. Deleted the file and then pouted like a little punk for 15 mins. Then I went to Oceola to see my friend Jenny's play. She RULED, but failed to tell me that her play was THREE HOURS LONG! It was great seeing her dominate some acting. Went back to SWCC singing really loud to some Jesus music. And now i just found out that the U.S officially won the olympics. Some say you can't "win" the olympics....but we did. Yes, the olympics, yet another reason why my country is better than yours.

Was watching Hukabbee, because he's the only one on Fox News that i think could tie his shoes, where i saw this guy....I looked him up on youtube and found this

My Life and Everything in It

this is an essay I wrote for some scholarship, so I decided since I haven't posted anything in forever, that I'd post this. sdfs ddsdfsdfsdf

On the first day of class one of my teachers said to draw five circles, one inside the other. Then he told us to start on the outer rung and label why we were in his college algebra class. I wrote “to get my math credits”. He then instructed us to say why we were doing that, in the ring next to it. I wrote “to get my diploma” then “so I can help people” followed by “because it’s my purpose” after which I simply put “God”. He then said what we had written in the inner most ring was the real reason why we are doing anything. He said to never forget that one thing that drives us, and don’t let anyone take that inspiration from us. God is the reason I strive to achieve and He is also the only reason why I am able to achieve my goals.
Since my junior year in high school I have known that I have a fascination with people and the human psyche. What I would do with this was unclear at the time. It started in my sociology class then my senior year with my first psychology class. My psychology teacher was needless to say not a traditional teacher. She was a woman who took guff from no man and would not be held down. She noticed that I was not the student I should be and decided to pushed me. She pushed me to the extent that I wanted out of her class. I would not realize, until later, that she would be one of the finest influences on my academic life I would ever have. Her lesson didn’t really take, until I would go to college and more out in the real world. The importance of school is beyond measure, a treasure that can not be appraised, it is the force that can make your house into a home.
Everyone knew what they wanted to do with the rest of their lives by our senior year of high school, that is, except for me. Still undecided on even what college I want to attend, my best friend told me about a small community college that he was going to for their music program. He told me that I could transfer my credits form that school to about any other school and it was one of the least costly schools in Iowa. Seeing how my parents aren’t simply paying for my college, this seemed like the place for me. Upon going to Southwestern Community College I met knew people, had new instructors that broadened my vision of our world and everything in it.
One day I went into a friend of mines’ room to find him in tears. I sparked up a conversation with him, trying to find out what was plaguing him. I tried to put his problem into perspective to show him that he could handle it because he was a strong individual. I know his problem wasn’t solved right then and there but I felt as though I played a positive role in his tribulations. This is the moment I knew what God wanted me to do. He had sent me to Earth to help people and be a beacon for His light to shine through. God’s beauty, love, and grace knows no bounds and will carry me through the high expectations I have set for myself, one of which being my academic goals.
Talking to people in the field of psychology, my advisor, and doing individual research, I found out that in order to do what I need to do I must go to graduate school to get at least a master’s degree. Coming from a middle class family, this seemed like a unreachable goal. But the x-factor here that will able me to reach this height is Christ and the strength he puts in me to achieve the unachievable. I try to walk through life remembering and calling on the strength of Christ all the while telling myself “God gave it to me, nobody’s taking it”.

Some people meditate, others have massages. I blend.

Recently I got a blender, but not just any blender. I got a Black&Decker Cyclone 600-watt Bad-Ass! Yes you read correctly 600-WATTS of pure excellence. It has enough power to single handedly.....END GLOBAL WARMING!!!! Complete with Digital 12 Speed Control that offers me versatility when blending. I've made fruit smoothies and peanut butter chocolate shakes, and frankly, i'm a natural. Yes, blending, you could say, is in my blood. Not because my father blended or his father blended or his father and so on. No because I injected a blender straight into my carotid artery!

...Until next time my Kung-fu Companions.

ps 5 fictional dollars to anyone who can tell me where I got the tittle to this post from.

Happy MLK Day Ya'll!!!

Martin Luther King Jr. would be 81 years old if he had not been killed in memphis in 1968. If you haven't seen MLK's full "I have a dream" speech you really should watch this...

If you think racism is gone, you are sadly mistaken. Oppression is an ever changing evil that moves slow like a fog that blinds the eyes of just men. Electing a black president will not solve our problem. We must keep fighting and be willing to die for what our proclamation promises. I am a white american but our freedoms are all undoubtably intertwined. We must not ignore our ethnicity, but rather, embrace it as a strength that will make our country ever stronger. There is no such thing a differing races because we are all the same race, the human race.

Keep it real my Kung-fu Companions.
